We took a break….
Yeah, sorry! David is out of town and I can’t pull these off alone (David is the genius who edits the video and such). BUT – that doesn’t mean we don’t have opinions on what DID get released!

Whoa! The egos on this set must’ve been CRAZY!!! Stallone is too old, and I’m pretty sure that Jason Statham (hot as he might be) is kinda regretting that LionsGate deal…. But shit blows up, so there is THAT.

I don’t have a vagina, so this movie holds no appeal – our friend Bettina DOES though, and this is what she though:
“Julia Robert’s travelogue is quite lovely to watch. It’s incredible how she always had great weather and comfortable shoes. Although I’m now feeling like I don’t have enough floaty tunic tops and linen capri pants to wear on my upcoming European adventure.
But… the movie had little to do with the book, save the name of the character… and a few plot points. Which, had I gone in with higher expectations, would have disappointed greatly. You see, Elizabeth Gilbert is my hero. Gilbert was living a life that did not fit her, and, with an honest and self-deprecating voice, took us, her readers, on her incredibly emotional journey that got her to a place where she liked her life again. She made me laugh so hard that I cried, cry so hard until my eyes were red, and nod my head vigorously to absolutely no one when I understood, as she described her feelings of pain or elation or enlightenment, exactly how she felt. Her book helped me work through the pain of my own divorce, and I’ve given it to friends who have said to me that the book had the same effect for them.
This movie? This movie just made me want to eat. I had to follow it up with a viewing of The Expendables, where I am pretty sure I sprouted a Y chromosome.”

Oh Scott Pilgrim, I LOVED the graphic novels, but Michael Cera is NOT right for this role! Apparently it was a hit at Comic Con and it’s supposedly a good movie – might end up being a sleeper hit. Alas though – no more roles like this for Mike… really, we’re over it and the box office results shows that.
See you all next week!
